2 - $1,500 scholarships to incoming Lutheran freshman entering Iowa State University. Criteria include: investment in church activities, academic achievement, involvement in extra-curricular activities, and a personal interview. NIACC PRESIDENT'S SCHOLARSHIP

No application is needed. The scholarship is automatically awarded to seniors enrolling at NIACC full-time. Categories are: ACT 23-27 award $ 500 ACT 28-30 award $1000 ACT 31-36 award $1500 DEADLINE: there is no deadline.

NIAAC TRUSTEE'S SCHOLARSHIP

No application is needed. Seniors need only to apply and send transcript to office. Valedictorians and salutatorians are eligible for full-tuition scholarships. DEADLINE: there is no deadline.

IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY ENGINEERING TALENT IN EVERY COUNTY (E-TEC) SCHOLARSHIP

$500 scholarship to Iowa residents who have declared Engineering as their program study at ISU. OWA AUTO DEALERS ASSN FOUNDATION FOR EDUCATION

Various scholarships available to applicants who are pursuing career in automotive or any truck-related industry. Applicant must submit a letter of recommendation from an IADA member dealership, a letter of recommendation from high school teacher or counselor, and a letter written by applicant, explaining why they should receive a scholarship. IOWA SOYBEAN ASSOCIATION

Two separate scholarships: ISA Ag Scholarship and Culinary Arts, Food & Nutrition or Foodservice Scholarship. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA and demonstrate scholastic achievement, community leadership, and involvement in other activities. Each scholarship requires a written essay. JAMES B. MORRIS SCHOLARSHIP FUND, INC.

Applicants must be of minority ethnic status as defined by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and have minimum 2.5 GPA. Scholarships amounts determined at a later date. Certain Iowa college match MSF, thus doubling amount of aid available. Applications available in the office. DEADLINE: March 15, 2010

GARNER ROTARY CLUB SCHOLARSHIP

Scholarship available for students going into the Vocational/Technical field. Applications available in the office. DEADLINE: March 20, 2010

MINNESOTA FARMHOUSE FRATERNITY SCHOLARSHIP

At least three $1,000 scholarships awarded by Minnesota Chapter of FarmHouse Fraternity to a male high school senior who is planning to attend the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. Scholarship is open to incoming freshmen of all majors and is based on academic achievement, leadership experience, athletic involvement, and career motivation, not on likelihood to join a fraternity. MONEY TO LEARN

Partners In Education scholarship for seniors planning to attend NIACC. Criteria include an ACT of at least 18 and in the upper third of the class. A 200-250 word essay on the topic “What's Below the Surface” is part of the application process. An application is available in the office. DEADLINE: March 26, 2010

ETHICAL DILEMMA CHALLENGE ESSAY/SCHOLARSHIP SPONSORED BY MOUNT MERCY COLLEGE

$250 scholarship available to high school senior attending any college in the Fall of 2009 (need not be attending Mount Mercy). Student must write an ethics essay regarding current government bailouts, minimum of 2 pages, double spaced. For more information, see Jan in the office. DEADLINE: March 31, 2010

LEARNING DISABILITIES ASSOCIATION OF IOWA SCHOLARSHIPS

Awards three $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors planning to obtain post-secondary education (college or vocational) for next year. The scholarships are to assist students with learning disabilities for school-related expenses. AMERICAN LEGION LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

Eligible applicants must be a child or legally adopted child or child of a spouse by prior marriage or dependent child as defined by the U.S. Armed Services for active duty personnel of the U.S. military and National Guard and military reservists who were federalized and die on or after September 11, 2001.
